I’m here to inform you about our new cacao prices.
The cacao prices will go up from Februari 1st, 2024. In recent weeks we have been communicating this news to our Cacao Community & Customers in the Netherlands via social media channel and on our website.
I would like to explain to you why our prices will change.
At the beginning of February this year (2024) we increased the cacao by €2 per pound. This is due to the:
-Inflation of 2024, up 2,6% in The Netherlands
-Transport prices from the shipment company (Guatemala to Amsterdam)
-Continuing rising transport costs (oil/gasoline from carriers increased again by 36.5%)
-The packaging company that packs the cacao for us in Guatemala for shipping, has increased its price by 30%.
-Import duties + import VAT at customs has increased by 10%
We understand that this is not nice to hear/read. In order to continue our intention; to be of service of you and to spread the plant medicine Mamacita cacao in The Netherlands/Europe. And thereby supporting the indigenous Mayan women's collective Ruk’u’x Ulew for their artisanal craft and their families, an increase in sales is inevitable.
